Zahria Sims, a saxophonist, composer, and bandleader based in New Orleans, Louisiana. She discovered her passion for music at a young age, influenced by her parents' background in gospel music. Born and raised in Baton Rouge, she has immersed herself in New Orleans’ vibrant music scene, performing at local festivals and leading her ensemble The Zahria Sims Collective. Their personal sound, rooted in Black American Music, blends jazz, funk, soul, and R&B. Sims freelances throughout the country and internationally, with an impressive list of performances and collaborations, including opening for renowned artists and being mentored by music legends such as Wes “Warmdaddy” Anderson and Tia Fuller, playing nationally with the Soul Rebels, and joining soul artist PJ Morton for a world tour. Sims is dedicated to sharing joy, love, and peace through her artistry as a performer, composer, and band leader.
